Quick and Easy Slow Cooker Meals

Have you ever thrown salsa verde and chicken in a slow cooker before? I love the ease of having my protein hot and ready in the kitchen for my boys. If you’re like me, these simple and flavorful slow cooker proteins will keep your family happy and full while protecting your precious free time.

As your know, I have been a fan of Primal Kitchen since they started their business out of Mark Sissons garage. I’ve shared them with my clients, friends and I use their no sugar added condiments daily with my kids daily.

Each recipe can be made in a slow cooker, pressure cooker, or in a dutch oven and transferred to an oven to slow cook for 7-8 hours at 220 degrees. You can find recipe videos linked below and you’ll receive 15% off your order at Primal Kitchen if use my code* KELLYSFAVORITES.

Buffalo Chicken

This chicken can be shredded into lettuce cups, topped onto a slaw-based salad or wrapped up and its perfect for Super Bowl Sunday!

  • 3-4 Chicken Breasts + 3/4 bottle Primal Kitchen Buffalo Sauce

Teryaki Chicken

Add this to the top of cauliflower or California basmati rice with broccoli, sesame seeds, and sriracha.

  • 3-4 Chicken Breasts + 3/4 bottle of Primal Kitchen No Soy Teriyaki Sauce

Barbeque Chicken

I love this chicken in a crunchy iceberg lettuce wrap or topped on a salad with romaine, black beans, tomatoes, cilantro, red onion, and drizzled with Primal Kitchen Ranch.  (corn and cheese are optional)

  • 3-4 Chicken Breasts + 3/4 bottle of Hawaiian Barbecue

Mississippi Roast

The original recipe calls for a packet of ranch powder, au jus, a stick of butter, flour, and 10 whole pepperoncini over a chuck roast. I simplified it with Primal Kitchen Ranch, olive oil, a little cassava flour, and whole pepperoncini.

  • 4lb Chuck Roast
  • 2 tbsp cassava flour
  • 2/4 bottle of Primal Kitchen Ranch
  • Salt & Pepper
  • 3 tbsp Primal Kitchen Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Add olive oil to a dutch oven on medium-high heat. Cover your chuck roast in a dash of salt and pepper, dust it with the cassava flour, and sear on all sides until a crust is formed. (3-5 min per side) Top roast with 10 pepperoncinis and ¾ of a bottle of Primal Ranch. Transfer to an oven at 220 and cook on low for 7-8 hours.

Pulled Pork: this shredded pulled pork is great for sandwiches

  • 1 (3- to 4-lb.) pork shoulder, trimmed of excess fat

  • 1 onion, finely chopped

  • 1/2 bottle Primal Kitchen Ketchup
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • Spice blend: 1 tsp Paprika, 1 tsp Garlic Powder, 1 tsp Mustard Powder, 1 tsp Cumin

Salt and pepper your pork. Place pork and onion directly in a slow cooker. In a small bowl, mix Ketchup, apple cider vinegar, and spices and pour it over your pork. Cook on high for 4-6 hours. Shred and serve with slaw on or off a bun.

I make my slaw with ¾ cup Primal Kitchen Mayo, Red wine vinegar, 3 tbsp of red wine vinegar, salt, and pepper tossed over a bag of chopped cabbage mix (red cabbage, green cabbage, and carrots) and ¼ cup sliced red onion. If you are used to a sweeter slaw add 1tbsp of maple syrup or coconut sugar to your sauce and mix well before tossing.
