Sweet and Salty Crunchy 'Apple Nachos' - Perfect for Snack Time!

Who says nachos have to be loaded with cheese and piled high with greasy toppings? We're flipping the script with a healthier alternative that's just as delicious and satisfying.

Introducing my Crunchy Apple Nachos – a guilt-free snack or dessert that's bursting with flavor and nutrients. Whether you're snacking solo or sharing with your little ones, these apple nachos are sure to satisfy your cravings without derailing your blood sugar.

Fruits are typically rich in natural sugars and vitamins, but they can lack in healthy fats and protein. Nut butters, on the other hand, are loaded with healthy fats and protein but might be lacking in other nutrients. By combining the two, you create a more balanced snack or meal that provides a wider array of nutrients, including carbohydrates, fats, fiber, and plant protein. Nut butters also provide the necessary fats to help enhance the absorption of these nutrients, maximizing the nutritional benefits of the fruit.

By pairing apples with healthy fats and protein, like nut butter, hemp seeds, and coconut flakes, you will prevent blood sugar spikes and crashes, keeping you and your little ones feeling full and satisfied for longer periods. It's a winning combination that supports overall health and well-being.

It’s also a super easy way to play and learn together in the kitchen while making a satiating snack you can all enjoy! Here's how:

  • I like to chop up the apples and place an assortment of toppings out for my boys to choose from.
  • Let them drizzle the nut butter on top of the apples and add their desired toppings.
  • Have them count out the toppings, name the different colors, talk about size, smell and taste of each of the ingredients.

They can be enjoyed as a quick snack, paired with breakfast bowls or smoothies, or even used as a dessert. This versatility makes it easy to incorporate them into your diet in a variety of delicious ways. Enjoy!
