Healthy Homemade Trail Mix

Easy and Healthy Homemade Trail Mix

Snack smarter - craft your own healthy Trail Mix at home! From controlling ingredients to customizing flavors and ensuring freshness, discover how homemade trail mix elevates your snacking game while offering a wholesome burst of energy on the go.

Nuts are a great Fab Four food - they contain protein, fat, and fiber in every bite. The combination of protein, healthy fats, and fiber in nuts helps regulate appetite, stabilize blood sugar levels, and keep hunger at bay, providing sustained energy throughout the day.

They also travel light and are an easy add to your purse, bag or carry-on. I like to prep a big batch of this trail mix and keep them on hand for whenever I need a quick bridge snack to regulate hunger hormones or satisfy my sweet tooth. Pro Tip: Eating the cashews and chocolate in one bite will provide an instant mood lift.

Unfortunately, many store-bought dry roasted nuts contain man-made industrial seed oils, which oxidize quickly and turn into (bad-for-you) free radicals. That's why I prefer dry roasting my own nuts at home. It’s so easy and they are ready in minutes. All you need are organic raw nuts (my favorites are from NOW Foods - code KELLY saves you 20% off your order) and salt! From there, you can create a variety of trail mix combinations depending on your taste preference!
