Zesty Vanilla Blueberry Fab Four Smoothie

For my moms and dads out there sharing their Fab Four Smoothie with their little ones, here's a quick double recipe extra green smoothie that you can all enjoy!

Adding greens to smoothies is a convenient and delicious way to increase your intake of important nutrients and promote overall health. And I love knowing that my boys are drinking up all that goodness without having to force feed them their greens.

Here's why 'greens' are important:

  • Nutrient Density: Greens like spinach, kale, or Swiss chard are packed with essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. By blending them into your smoothie, you're increasing the nutrient density of your drink without significantly increasing the calorie count.
  • Fiber Content: Greens are high in dietary fiber, which aids digestion, promotes gut health, and helps regulate blood sugar levels. Fiber also contributes to a feeling of fullness, which can help with weight management and reducing cravings.
  • Hydration: Leafy greens have a high water content, which can contribute to your overall hydration levels. Staying hydrated is important for numerous bodily functions, including digestion, circulation, and temperature regulation.

Be Well Tip: The next time you make a green smoothie and it tastes just a little 'too green', here's a little hack to mask the bitterness and enhance the flavor of your berries: Simply add the juice of a lemon or lime! Do not toss it. Do not add loads of sugar. I used this trick with this recipe to create the perfect balanced taste of tartness from the blueberries and sweetness from Be Well protein powder, and my littles couldn't even tell the greens were there. Ingredients

*Note: I add collagen into my day when I’m not drinking my Grass-fed Beef Protein but I don’t when I’ve already used it because my beef protein contains 16 grams of collagen per scoop.

Directions

  1. Add all your ingredients to a high speed blender and blend on high until you reach your desired consistency. If you used fresh fruit, add a few ice cubes to cool before serving.
  2. Pour yourself a glass and fill up your kids favorite Thermos, and enjoy!
