Ashley came to breathwork by way of meditation; she found it easier to meditate by counting her breaths for three minutes at a time
There are different types of breathwork, more or less active, but the majority of us are looking to downshift
Start with just three minutes of counting breaths and extending your exhale
If you need to feel energized, stimulate your sympathetic nervous system by breathing through your mouth with some extra effort
Fit in breathwork wherever you are going to be able to be the most consistent, make it easy on yourself
Set a timer if it's helpful for you to release focus on time
When you're breathing throughout the day, focus on your diaphragm, try placing your hand below your ribs to really get a sense of what that feels like
Stretching before practicing your breathwork can help your body open up an release
