If you are looking for a healthy getaway to relax and reset, I highly recommend you visit Miraval Resort & Spa. Miraval Spa is an all-inclusive wellness retreat with three distinct locations in Arizona, Texas, and Massachusetts.
It is one of the only places that allows you to take the time as a mom to prioritize your health, have meaningful conversations, slow down, drop in, and most importantly, get a full night's sleep. I couldn’t think of a better place for a baby moon, so this past week I took my mom and sisters down to the Miraval Resort & Spa in Austin, Texas in honor of being an auntie, again! This place is my personal paradise and I could not wait to share it with my favorite ladies. It’s an adult wellness camp on the outskirts of Austin, alongside lush hills overlooking Lake Travis. The scenery alone immediately brings a sense of calmness and peace of mind.
With a full daily schedule of wellness activities to choose from, there is so much you can do in a day. From meditation and yoga, to cooking classes with locally sourced ingredients, to exploring the beautiful hill country on a trail run, there is something for everybody.
Here’s what our getaway looked like:
We of course had a green smoothie in hand as soon as we arrived, and then got to explore the property and take in the breathtaking views. After we settled in, our first activity was a yoga groove class, a lively flow practice with fun and funky tunes. Afterward, we decided to relax poolside while sipping on muddled berries in sparkling water for a couple of hours before walking to dinner.
The food is 100% organic, sourced from a regenerative farm, and absolutely delicious. They have every menu item labeled perfectly for any dietary restrictions, and the best part is the complimentary paleo and vegan treats that are available all day long, free of charge. Their gluten-free, vegan Chai cookie was 10/10, and if you need an afternoon pick me up, they serve a delicious Chai tea from the coffee bar with organic and minimal ingredient almond and coconut milk alternatives.
We planned on ending the day with a foam rolling class, but spent the rest of the evening catching up since we haven’t been together in so long without our kids. The next day, we had a full schedule of activities, starting with a gentle yoga flow before breakfast. Then, we decided to try something outside of our comfort zone and took a belly dancing class that was surprisingly so fun. We enjoyed more green smoothies before taking an aqua barre in the pool, which uses the water's resistance to create a powerful and fun class. We ended our stay with a hanging silk meditation and enjoyed another mouthwatering dinner together.
I just packed comfy clothes, workout clothes, swimsuit, and PJs. Plus BYO @drinklmnt!! My sisters and I always bring LMNT when we know we're going to be in the sun and exercising. Don't forget your free gift with purchase by using my link.
Miraval Recommendations:
- Their food is insanely delicious, and all the ingredients are sourced from an on-site regenerative farm. You can go on a Cypress Creek Farm visit where you get to meet the farmers and explore the farm that provides produce and eggs for your daily meals at Miraval. I wasn’t able to take it this time, but I have previously and I highly recommend it. Hit up the smoothie and coffee bar for breakfast! My favorite was the essential greens, hold the honey add collagen.
- If you can, try out a variety of classes and do something you have never done before to get the most out of your experience. The only thing I would change about my trip is to extend my stay to be able to try all the other activities! If I had more time, I would have loved to paddle board or canoe to explore more of the beautiful scenery.
